new knitting goodies!!

Yesterday I got some new knitting goodies in the mail!  And they arrived just in time.  I was getting all sad thinking about my husband leaving on a long trip...and then "knock, knock" there was my mailman with two packages for me!  Hooray!  There's nothing like yarn, yarn, and more yarn to make your birthday fantastic!  Now I have the yarn I need for some projects I've been itching to start....looks like those socks I was working on are going to be put on hold for awhile...  Really I should discipline myself and tell myself that I can't use any of my new yarn or patterns until I finish what I was working on....but look how pretty this yarn is!  I can't help myself!

This yarn is just screaming to be knit with!  It's soooo beautiful (the picture really doesn't do it justice).  It's shimmer from knitpicks.  It's a combination of alpaca wool and silk.  Wow...truely elegant yarn.  It's super soft and silky.  This will be the first time I've worked with lace weight yarn and I can't wait to start this project with it!
