Knitting on the beach...does it get any better??

This past week our little family took a trip to Outer Banks, NC for a little family vacation.  I thought I packed plenty of knitting to keep me busy...but apparently not.  I started this scarf (that's what I'm working on in the picture below), but ran out of yarn.  Then I knitted these mittens, and then this hat.  But I tweaked the hat.  I wish I could show you pictures.  But our camera pretty much broke on our vacation.  I don't know if water got on it or if sand was just blown into every crack...but the zoom and auto focus don't work.  So all of my pictures I took of my projects are totally blurry.  We've got to buy a new camera this week!  Any suggestions?  I wasn't totally in love with the one we had anyway...but it was only about 9 months old.
It was so nice and relaxing to knit on the beach.  The waves were fairly calm, so I didn't have to stress out about where exactly the girls were.  Plus my husband was around...so he kept his eyes on them.  They were the perfect age for this vacation.  They totally entertained themselves on the beach!

We have the Sony H-9, and LOVE it. You can find a pretty good deal on it on ebay.
I'm impressed you remembered to bring knitting to the beach. I forget to bring my knitting anywhere.
